Extremely deep, somewhat excessively drained, red, very gravelly clay soil derived from Precambrian migmatites. The forest surface has a very thin, rapidly decomposing, litter layer and a what irregular surface. PARENT ROCK: Hard, rich in biotite, with a high mineralogical content of kaolinite, iron and aluminium (hydr-)oxides. Precambrian basement system.
